Joel started his painting career at his dad’s auto body
shop painting cars. He then got into the house painting
industry working under a true craftsman of 30 years. Joel
was quickly promoted into a lead position and continued
learning and perfecting his craft. In 2000, Whitaker
Painting was born. Joel comes from a long line of over 30
painters. His grandma tells the story of growing up with
gray walls because Joel’s great-grandfather would mix all
the leftover paint together to use on their home. “At
least it’s clean,” he would say. In his spare time, he
coaches for Kent Juniors Volleyball Club. He also enjoys
playing in tournaments…and winning! |

Amy joined Whitaker Painting 5 years ago as the

painting, managing human resources, marketing, and color

school Spanish & Drama teacher. Amy loves to coach
and play volleyball with her husband, Joel. She can also
be seen performing on stage in the local theatre
community. |
